Matraca Berg Nominated for the NSAI Songwriters Hall Of Fame
UMPG Songwriter Matraca Berg was a nominee for this years Nashville’s Songwriters Hall of Fame. Matraca has had nearly 400 published songs, she has earned a dozen BMI songwriter awards and in 1997 Matraca won the CMA Song of the Year for “Strawberry Wine.” “When they called and told me I was nominated, I couldn’t believe it. I said, ‘Are you absolutely sure?’ I was just stunned.” Most recently, Matraca’s songs have been recorded by Keith Urban, Trisha Yearwood and Christy Sutherland.
Along with Matraca’s nomination, UMPG Nashville also picked up an award for the #1 hit recorded by Keith Urban, “You’ll Think of Me” written by Darrell Brown.
