Radney Foster Chosen as New Host of "CMT Crossroads"
Country Music Television's highly successful CMT Crossroads series has inked UMPG Nashville
singer/songwriter Radney Foster to be the host for their upcoming season.
CMT Crossroads, which brings together singers of different genres, has been
cited as "one of the best musical shows on TV." The beauty of the show is
the common ground shared between the artists when all the pretenses are
stripped away.
The first episode of the year will pair Aerosmith's Steven Tyler with Alison
Krauss and Union Station featuring Jerry Douglas. "I'm thrilled," says
Foster, who will serve as host and interviewer. "Alison's voice is so soft
and silky that it stops you dead in your tracks--and Steven Tyler is the
other extreme. His voice is an amazing mixture of Howling Wolf, Hank
Williams and Louis Armstrong. I can't wait to hear how those two amazing
vocalists are going to mix it up. And having Steven Tyler front Union
Station will definitely prove you don't have to plug in to rock!"
Foster will serve as host for the 2003 season. Past pairings have included
the Dixie Chicks and James Taylor, Lucinda Williams and Elvis Costello,
Travis Tritt and Ray Charles, Elton John and Ryan Adams, Willie Nelson and
Sheryl Crow and Hank Williams and Kid Rock.
