Universal/Almo Sound Studio opened in 1996 with the intent of serving the company’s songwriters for their song demo purposes. Since the studios opening, writers such as Emmylou Harris, Waylon Jennings, Nanci Griffith, Gillian Welch, Anthony Smith, Craig Wiseman, Annie Roboff, Mike Reid and Marty Stuart have recorded here. Many songs that have gone on to be some of Country Music’s biggest hits were brought to life in the Universal/Almo Sound Studio.
